1. About this policy

This policy explains how Travel Value — an IATA accredited, ASATA member South African travel business — collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). If anything here is unclear, just ask.

2. What we collect

What you give us: your name and contact details, and the details of the trip you're enquiring about (destination, dates, travellers, budget) — captured when you use the concierge, a package page, an enquiry form or WhatsApp.
What we collect automatically: basic site-usage information through cookies, to keep the site working and improve it.

Your enquiries are stored with us as leads so a consultant can pick them up and help you.

3. Why we use it

We use your information to:

Confirm availability and prices for the trip you asked about;
Send you a secure payment link when you're ready to book;
Respond to your enquiries and provide support;
Improve our catalogue and website.

We process your information lawfully — to take steps you've asked for, to meet our commitments to you, and where we have a legitimate interest in running the business well.

4. Payments

We never see or store your full card details. Payments happen on a secure link handled by our payment processor, Peach Payments — and we never auto-charge your card.

5. Who we share it with

We share your information only where it's needed to do the job:

With suppliers (airlines, hotels and other travel partners) to confirm and fulfil your booking;
With our payment processor to take a payment you've authorised;
With trusted service providers who help us run the business, under confidentiality.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

6. Sending information abroad

Some suppliers and service providers are located outside South Africa, so fulfilling an international booking may involve transferring your information across borders. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it stays protected to a standard consistent with POPIA.

7. Cookies

We use cookies for the site to function, for basic analytics and for personalisation. You'll see a notice about this, and you can manage cookies in your browser settings.

8. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then we remove or de-identify it.

10. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

Ask what personal information we hold about you;
Ask us to correct or update it;
Ask us to delete it, where we're not required to keep it;
Object to certain uses of it;
Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
