The fine print, minus the headache
Here's exactly how booking with Travel Value works — what you pay, when, and what happens if plans change. No traps, no mystery fees.

1. Who we are
Travel Value is a South African travel business. We are IATA accredited and an ASATA member, and we sell holiday packages — flights, stays and extras bundled together — sourced from our live catalogue and confirmed with our travel partners. By enquiring or booking with us, you agree to these terms.
2. What we sell (and what we don't)
Every trip on our site is a real package from our catalogue, priced in South African Rand (ZAR), usually per person sharing (pps) unless the listing says otherwise. We are a travel agent: the flights, hotels and services in a package are supplied by airlines, hotels and other principals ("suppliers"), each with their own terms. We do not operate our own flights.
3. Getting a quote and booking
When you send an enquiry — through the concierge, a package page or WhatsApp — you're asking us to check a trip, not committing to it. Here's the flow:
- You tell us the trip, dates and travellers.
- A human consultant confirms live availability and the final price with the supplier.
- Only once you're happy and payment is received is your booking confirmed.
4. Prices
The prices you see are genuine catalogue fares — never invented, never fake "was/now" theatre. That said, travel prices move: fares, exchange rates and supplier availability can change until your booking is confirmed and paid. Your consultant will always confirm the final, all-in price before you pay. Once your payment reflects, that confirmed price is locked in.
5. Payment
When you're ready, your consultant sends a secure payment link (via Peach Payments, l.ppay.io) that you open and pay yourself, by card, online. Two things we promise:
- We never auto-charge your card and we never store your full card details — Peach handles the card data securely.
- Your booking is confirmed once the payment reflects. Some fares must be paid in full immediately to hold the price; your consultant will tell you if that applies.
6. Changes and cancellations
Plans change — we get it. Cancellations and changes are handled by your consultant, but they're governed by the supplier's fare rules (airlines, hotels), which vary by product:
- Some fares are flexible; many discounted or promotional fares are non-refundable, non-changeable or non-transferable.
- Change or cancellation fees from the supplier, plus a reasonable service fee, may apply.
- Suppliers may occasionally change schedules or itineraries; where that happens we'll pass on the options available to you.
None of this limits your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act.
7. Refunds
Where a fare is refundable, refunds are processed according to the supplier's terms, and timelines depend on them — airline refunds in particular can take several weeks. Service fees are non-refundable. Your consultant will tell you upfront what is and isn't refundable before you pay, so there are no nasty surprises.
8. Your responsibilities
To keep your trip smooth, please:
- Hold a valid passport and any required visas, and check entry, transit and vaccination requirements for your destination.
- Make sure the names on your booking exactly match your travel documents.
- Reconfirm your travel details before departure.
- Arrange adequate travel insurance — we strongly recommend it.
9. Our liability
We act as an agent between you and the suppliers, and we take real care doing it. We are not liable for the acts, omissions or default of any supplier, or for events beyond our reasonable control. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited, and nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.
10. Your information
When you enquire or book, we store your details (like your name and contact) with us so a consultant can help you and confirm your trip. How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
